Everyday Moments Minis: All the Details
THE YELLOW BOOTS THAT STARTED IT ALL
My daughter has been obsessed with them and I don’t understand how they’ve magically fit her for years. It took me a bit to realize how much I’ll cherish these little yellow boots because I already know 20 years from now, anytime I see a little pair of yellow boots, I’m going to think of her, and her smile anytime she got to put them on. As a mom, I know how quickly time passes and how the things we think we’ll always remember often fade with time and I realized I wanted to capture these “everyday moments” so that I could hold on to these memories years after these little boots don’t fit anymore.
If I’m honest, I truly do hope you’ll join me for an Everyday Moments session, because I know with all my heart how much moms will treasure these forever!
If you’ve ever thought about booking family photos but felt overwhelmed by the idea of getting everyone perfectly dressed, smiling on cue, and behaving for an entire session, these are perfect for you.
Everyday Moments Minis were created for families who want something different.
Less posing. Less pressure. More presence.
These sessions are intentionally child‑led and designed to document your kids exactly as they are in this season, the expressions, the movement, the tiny habits you don’t even realize you’ll miss yet.
What Are Everyday Moments Minis?
Everyday Moments Minis are short, relaxed photography sessions that focus on connection rather than perfection.
Instead of asking your child to sit still or smile on command, I give them space to explore, move, and show up as themselves and share their favorite things with me. Your job is simply to be with them.
Think:
Curious glances
Unfiltered smiles
Quiet moments between the big ones
The way they snuggle their favorite items
The way your child exists in the world right now
These sessions work especially well for toddlers and young kids but they’re still magic at any age.
Who These Sessions Are Perfect For
Everyday Moments Minis are for you if:
Your child doesn’t love being told what to do
You care more about how the photos feel than how much they resemble Pinterest perfect photos
You want images that reflect their real personality and not their fake forced smiles
You find yourself thinking, “I just want to remember this version of them.”
If traditional mini sessions have ever felt stressful, this experience was created with you in mind.
How to Prepare (Without Overthinking It)
For Everyday Moments Minis, the best thing you can do is let them do their thing (I know kids will be kids!).
A few gentle tips:
Dress your child in something they can comfortably move in
Let them know they’ll get to play and explore
Trust that they don’t need to perform or behave perfectly
The more freedom they have, the more genuine the images will be.
Why These Photos Matter
No matter how much I try, I know I can’t remember every detail of this season my family is in, so my goal is to capture that feeling.
Because one day, you’ll miss the way they are right now.
Everyday Moments Minis exists to preserve the fleeting, in‑between moments, the ones that often get overlooked, but wind up meaning the most.
Not polished memories.
Just honest ones.
Some ideas for things we could capture:
The favorite shoes/boots/clothes/pjs/costumes
The beloved stuffed animal or blanky
The emotional support tv remote (or in our family… a banana!)
The way they just learned to sit, crawl, stand, walk
How they suck their thumb and squish their stuffed animal
Their goofy dance moves when Pink Pony Club comes on
A new tooth… or a lost tooth!
The way their pigtails stick up
Their little nose crinkle
Their little toes painted in nail polish
Toys they’re currently obsessed with
Them in a diaper (because it won’t be forever, even if it feels like it!)
How they can walk like a flamingo or a bear
They way they look at and watch you
Their face when they’re proud of something they’ve done
Literally anything about them that makes you smile… the options are endless!
When I did a recent test shoot for these minis, the moms LOVED them! Here’s what one sent to me in a message:
“Toni! These are so good. I was a little nervous & was hoping that you would get some useable shots, but wow, you did so good! We love them all and we’re upgrading! Thank you so much.
The session was perfect for a rowdy toddler. Your warmth and allowing him to just be himself and meet him on his level was truly special. I think the concept of this shoot is a really great idea. The relaxed aspect, not being restricted to a certain setup & having their toys / comfort items is such a sweet thing to document.”
