A Magical Spring Maternity Session in Mt. Juliet

As a maternity photographer in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, I have the privilege of capturing some of life’s most beautiful transitions—and this session was one of those unforgettable nights. This sweet family is preparing to welcome baby number four, and their session couldn’t have been more magical.
From the moment we met at the location, there was an incredible sense of ease and joy. Mama was just a few weeks away from her due date, but she moved through the evening with so much calm and grace. She radiated that quiet, grounded kind of strength that’s unmistakable in a mother who’s done this before—who knows the beauty and chaos that awaits and is meeting it all with a full heart.
The weather? Perfect. Spring was showing off with soft golden light, blooming wildflowers, and just enough breeze to bring everything to life. As we made our way through the session, a group of about ten deer wandered into view in the distance. It felt like something out of a movie—completely still, peaceful, and meant to be.
The kids were absolutely amazing. They were kind to one another, playful but cooperative, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. That kind of sibling dynamic is always so fun to witness and capture. Their connection felt natural and joyful—and their parents? So at ease. Despite the busyness that comes with preparing for another baby, they were present, relaxed, and soaking in this moment as a family.
One of my favorite parts of the session came at the end, when Mama was up for a little adventure. We made our way down to a nearby creek for a few final shots. Between the soft water, the flowing dress, and the quiet moment away from the group, it felt special. I’m always so honored when clients trust me enough to explore a little and let the moment lead us.
This sweet family is waiting to find out the gender of their baby until delivery day, which I seriously admire because I am too Type A to do that myself. There’s something so timeless and special about letting that moment be a surprise. These photos are the final chapter of this family as they are now, standing on the edge of something brand new and incredibly special.
